About MacBook Pro Retina 15″ Mid 2015 Repair
The MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Mid 2015 (A1398) is the final generation of the classic Retina 15-inch design, powered by 4th-generation Intel Core i7 Haswell quad-core processors running at 2.2GHz, 2.5GHz or 2.8GHz with 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM. It features a stunning 15.4-inch Retina display at 2880x1800 resolution and either Intel Iris Pro graphics or dual graphics with AMD Radeon R9 M370X. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB or 1TB PCIe-based flash. Common repair issues include swollen batteries causing trackpad problems, anti-reflective coating delamination on the display (known as staingate), failing SSDs and worn keyboard keys. The Force Touch trackpad introduced in this model can also develop click registration issues. The display assembly uses a fused design making screen-only replacement impractical - full assembly replacement is the standard repair approach.
