About MacBook Pro 13″ A1278 (Mid 2009) Repair
The MacBook Pro 13-inch A1278 Mid 2009 was the first 13-inch model to carry the MacBook Pro name in the unibody aluminium design, previously sold as the aluminium MacBook. Powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors at 2.26GHz or 2.53GHz, it features a 13.3-inch 1280x800 LED-backlit glossy display and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics with 256MB shared memory. It shipped with either 2GB or 4GB DDR3 RAM, upgradeable to 8GB. The 160GB or 250GB mechanical hard drives are the most critical repair point - these small-capacity spinning disks are well beyond their expected service life and highly prone to sudden failure. Data recovery should be a priority before catastrophic drive loss. Battery cells are invariably depleted after nearly 17 years. The MagSafe charging board, SuperDrive mechanism, keyboard, and trackpad are other components frequently requiring attention.
