About iPad Mini 3 Repair
The iPad Mini 3, released in October 2014, was a modest update to the Mini line that added Touch ID fingerprint authentication while retaining the A7 chip and 7.9-inch Retina display from the iPad Mini 2. It features a 2048x1536 resolution display at 326 ppi, a 5MP iSight rear camera, 1.2MP FaceTime HD front camera, and Lightning connector. The display is non-laminated (non-bonded) with a separate digitizer and LCD panel, meaning the glass and display can sometimes be repaired independently. Available in Silver, Space Grey, and Gold -- it was the first iPad Mini to come in Gold. Common repair issues include cracked front digitizer glass, degraded batteries that barely hold a charge given the device's age, worn Lightning ports, and failing home buttons with Touch ID.
