About iPad 3rd Gen Repair
The iPad 3rd Generation, launched in March 2012, was the first iPad to feature a Retina display, quadrupling the pixel count to 2048x1536 resolution at 264 ppi on its 9.7-inch screen. Marketed simply as 'the new iPad,' it was powered by the A5X chip with quad-core graphics to drive the high-resolution display. It retained the 30-pin dock connector and introduced support for 4G LTE connectivity. The display is non-bonded (non-laminated) with separate digitizer glass and LCD panel. This iPad was the heaviest in Apple's 9.7-inch lineup at 652 grams, due to the larger battery needed to power the Retina display.
