// PHONE SCREEN REPAIR
Phone Screen Repair in St Andrews. Every Brand, Same-Day
It does not matter whether you have an iPhone, a Samsung, a Google Pixel, a Huawei, a OnePlus, or a Motorola. A cracked screen is a cracked screen, and you need it fixed. The touch is unreliable, the display has weird colours bleeding through, and you are squinting through a spider web of cracks wondering if that last text you sent was full of typos. Enough of that.
Repair St Andrews fixes phone screens for every major brand. We have been doing it since 2011 at our workshop on 1 City Rd, right beside the West Port. We carry screens in stock for the most popular models and can source parts for less common phones quickly. Most screen repairs are done the same day, often within the hour.

// OUR PROCESS
Our Screen Repair Process
We keep the process simple so your phone is back in your hands the same day.
Diagnosis and Quote
Bring your phone in and we will identify the exact model, assess the screen damage, and check whether the issue is purely the screen or if there is deeper damage (a bent frame, for instance, can cause recurring screen problems if not addressed). We test the touch sensitivity, check for LCD or OLED bleed, and verify that other components are working. You get a firm quote before any work starts.
Screen Replacement
The method depends on the phone. Some phones use screens that are glued directly to the frame with industrial adhesive. Samsung and Huawei are known for this. Which requires careful heat application and slow separation. Others, like most iPhones, use a clip-and-screw design that is more straightforward. We transfer any sensors, earpiece speakers, or cameras from the old screen to the new one where needed, install the new display, and re-seal the phone.
Full Device Testing
After installation, we test the entire phone. Not just the screen. Touch sensitivity across every corner, display colour and brightness at all levels, front camera and proximity sensor, fingerprint reader (under-display or physical), earpiece speaker, and ambient light sensor. If the phone has an IP rating for water resistance, we re-apply adhesive sealing. You only pay when you are satisfied the phone is working perfectly.

Turnaround Time
Most phone screen repairs take one to two hours depending on the phone model and the complexity of the disassembly. Phones with heavily glued screens (like Samsung Galaxy S series) take longer than phones with screw-based assemblies (like iPhones). If we have the screen in stock, the repair happens the same day. For less common models where parts need ordering, it is usually one to two working days.
Walk-ins welcome during opening hours: Monday to Friday 09:30 to 17:30, Saturday 10:00 to 17:00. Call 01334 478866 to confirm we have your model’s screen before visiting.
Phone Screen Repair Pricing
Prices depend on the phone brand, model, and the type of screen technology. As a general guide, older phones and LCD screens are the most affordable. Mid-range phones with OLED displays sit in the middle. Flagship phones with large, curved, high-resolution AMOLED screens are the most expensive because the screen assemblies cost more to source.
Some specific examples: a budget Motorola or older iPhone screen is at the value end, a mid-range Samsung A series or Pixel is moderate, and a Galaxy S Ultra or Z Fold screen is at the premium end. We always quote the exact price for your specific phone before starting any work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you just replace the glass without replacing the whole screen?
On most modern phones, no. And here is why. The glass, the digitiser (touch layer), and the display panel (LCD or OLED) are bonded together into a single assembly at the factory using optically clear adhesive under UV light in a dust-free environment. Separating just the glass without damaging the display underneath requires a specialist refurbishment machine and clean-room conditions. It is possible, but the failure rate and quality inconsistency makes it impractical for a repair shop. By replacing the entire assembly, we guarantee you a perfect screen with no dust, bubbles, or touch issues.
Do you use original manufacturer screens?
We use high-quality aftermarket screens that match the original specifications for colour accuracy, brightness, touch sensitivity, and fit. For most phones, these are indistinguishable from the original in daily use. For certain models, we can also source genuine manufacturer screens (Samsung original or Apple original) if you prefer the premium option. Just ask and we will quote both.
My phone screen has a tiny crack but everything works. Should I fix it?
We recommend it, but it is your choice. Cracks spread over time, especially with temperature changes (going from a warm pocket to cold Scottish air does it). What is a cosmetic crack today can become a full shatter from a minor bump next week. Fixing it now is also cheaper. If the crack spreads to the point where the touch layer or display panel is affected, you end up needing the same repair anyway but the damage may also have affected other components by then.
I have dropped my phone and the screen is black, but I can hear it vibrate. Can you save my data?
Almost certainly, yes. If the phone vibrates and responds to notifications, the phone itself is working fine. It is just the display that is broken. Once we fit a new screen, your phone will be exactly as it was, with all your data, apps, and settings intact. If you need to access your data urgently before the repair (to reply to an important message, for instance), we can sometimes connect the phone to a test screen temporarily. Just let us know when you come in.
Do you repair tablets as well as phones?
Yes. We repair screens on iPads, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Amazon Fire tablets, and other tablet brands. Tablet screens are generally larger and more expensive than phone screens, but the repair process is similar. See our iPad Screen Repair and Tablet Repair pages for more information.
Do you offer a warranty on screen repairs?
Yes. Every screen repair comes with a warranty covering defects in the replacement screen. Things like dead pixels appearing, touch issues developing, or any fault that was not caused by new damage. If anything goes wrong with the screen we fitted, bring it back and we will sort it out. The warranty does not cover new physical damage (dropping the phone again), which is a separate incident.
Can you match the original screen quality?
We use high-quality screens that match the original specifications for colour accuracy, brightness, and touch sensitivity. For most people, the replacement screen is indistinguishable from the original in everyday use. We can also source genuine manufacturer screens for certain models if you want the absolute original quality. Ask us for a quote on both options.
How do I protect my screen after repair?
We recommend a tempered glass screen protector. It absorbs impact and cracks instead of your actual screen. A good case with raised edges around the screen also helps. We can fit a screen protector for you when you collect the phone if you would like.
